Hiroshi Nakayama, Worthington, MA
Hiroshi Nakayama developed his Twilight Glow glaze to create a highly responsive, light-interactive surface with a distinctive palette, ranging from reddish purple and deep blue to black, gold, and green. Each piece emerges from the kiln with a one-of-a-kind finish, the result of nuanced variations in firing. Hiroshi’s pieces evoke refined, unobtrusive sophistication, and the patina of time imparts a spiritual elegance, rooted in a deep reverence for nature.
His aesthetic is shaped by diverse design influences from the countries he’s lived in but remains deeply rooted in the simplicity and elegance of Japanese principles. While contemporary, Hiroshi’s work reflects a harmonious blend of global inspirations and respect for the understated beauty of Japanese art.
