Megan Hart makes wheel thrown and slab built functional pottery. Her earliest work was in porcelain, high-fired in a reduction atmosphere. Megan is known for her beautiful hand-painted pastoral imagery featuring florals and horses. While most of Megan's work is porcelain, she also works with stoneware, which offers a warm and toasty backdrop for her paintings.
"I have been making pottery for what seems all my life and am very happy doing so. It is what I know and very well. I try to convey my love of flowers and animals (especially horses) in my work which I am surrounded and inspired by in the small rural town where I live."
