This week I spent many hours doing a job I typically dread, not because it's particularly hard but because it involves all too much paperwork. That's right, I spent 2 days in our little basement, sorting files. In that process, there came a time when I needed more room so I ventured downwards, to a drawer in our filing cabinet I had yet to explore. And boy oh boy did I find some fun stuff in there. As you may already know, a few years ago we created a gallery wall of Pinch history/memorabilia for the space behind our register. It was our way of showing appreciation for and paying tribute to the generations of Pinch that came before our current iteration. These newly uncovered nuggets of Pinch history I had never seen before and was overjoyed to get to look through. I felt like I had struck gold! I found markups of old Pinch logos, hand-drawn designs of display furniture, business cards, photos of artists and their work, flyer for events, shows, and series hosted by the store, and a collection of truly remarkably designed seasonal newsletters covered in illustrations by Mara Superior. They are more magical than I could have dreamed.

| Here are a couple photos of my favorite newsletter of the bunch, titled "Garden Follies," sent in the spring of 1997. I would have just turned 2. It's incredible to think about the sheer quality of artists we've supported, work we've sold, and collections we've curated in our now 46 (!) years in business. I feel very honored to get to have a chapter in that history. I'm just sitting in that gratitude today. |

And to Mara, Leslie, Barbara, Donald, and Amy we're so grateful for each of you and the foundation you built here. And, even more so, we're so grateful you're all still in the Pinch family today ❤️
