Casey Seawell Freeman of CSF Ceramics is a storyteller and her medium is clay. Her handmade tableware is functional and meant to be used in the ritual of everyday life. Casey hand builds, slip casts, or wheel throws each piece in her studio in Richmond, Virginia. The work reflects her personal inspiration from the natural world… each piece has meaning.
Known as “mother of the wood” and “queen of trees,” this noble historic tree is valued for her broad canopy. A piece of beech bark serves as a talisman for luck and knowledge.
