Bat and the Moon 6x6 Tile

$87.00

Charley Harper’s Bat, Bullfrog, and Bonfire first appeared in the Ford Times magazine (1968), capturing a lively night scene along Kentucky’s South Fork of the Cumberland River. For this 6x6 Motawi tile, they panned above the bonfire and bullfrog to focus on one serene moment: a bat gliding beneath a glowing moon. Harper’s original was painted in quiet grays, but Motawi reimagined the sky in deep, vivid blues, adding a spark of color to the stillness. It’s a little square of midnight magic—nature’s hush, ready to hang on your wall.

Tiles are 5/8" thick and have a notch at the back for hanging.

Motawi polychrome tiles are striking individual art pieces as much as functional tile installation accents.  And each one is made by hand and with heart in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Motawi embrace variation and handmade beauty. The bold heft of each Motawi tile reveals serious craftsmanship. And our time-honored hand-glazing methods produce a nuanced range of color with depth and translucence.
