Our Premiering Potters series continues this June with the work of Suzanne Laba.
"I am pulled to create finished pieces that are free-flowing, fluid and somewhat abstract, either through sgraffito or glazing techniques. But something unexpected and personal has evolved during the process of creating my sgraffito pieces. As I’m carving, I find myself thinking about the special people in my life who are no longer physically here-little moments and memories fill my mind. As the designs take shape and come to life, I feel their presence and how interconnected our souls are. And when I reflect on each finished piece, I can see how those moments, that soul connection has influenced and become an integral part of my work," writes Suzanne about her pottery.
Suzanne’s work will be on display and available for purchase June 13th-15th at Pinch. Suzanne herself will be in the store on Arts Night Out, June 13th from 5-8pm for an opening reception.
