A potter of more than 20 years, Joy Friedman prides herself on creating high quality, functional stoneware. She finds inspiration in the natural world, especially near her studio in beautiful Western Massachusetts. Her work often depicts abstract landscapes using the colors of the desert, seaside, forest, and sunset.
Says Joy, "There’s a dialog between my intention and the clay’s own ability. As the clay responds to my touch and listens to my directions, it also lets me know about its limits and its many possibilities. We are co-creators."
